The Media library lives in your site dashboard, not your account portal. Open your dashboard with the Glowply dashboard button on your site card, then choose Media from the side menu. See Site dashboard overview.
What you can store
The Media library holds the files you use to build your site and store:- Images — product photos, logos, banners, and pictures for your pages and posts (such as JPG, PNG, and WebP)
- Documents — files you want customers to download, like a PDF menu or price list
- Other media — audio or video files, where your design uses them
Every file you upload is kept in one library, so you never have to upload the same image twice. Once it’s here, you can insert it into as many pages and products as you like.
Browse the library
When you open Media, your files appear as a grid of thumbnails, with the newest uploads first. From here you can:- Scroll through your images and files
- Search by file name to find a specific item
- Filter to narrow the grid — for example, to show only images
- Click any item to open its details, where you can read or edit its information
Upload media
You can add files to your library at any time, then use them wherever you need.1
Open the Media library
In your site dashboard, choose Media from the side menu.
2
Start an upload
Choose the option to add or upload a new file. You can usually also drag and drop files straight from your computer onto the page.
3
Pick your files
Select one or more images or files from your computer. Several files can upload at once.
4
Wait for the upload to finish
Each file uploads and then appears as a thumbnail in your library, ready to use.
You don’t have to upload from this page every time. When you’re building a page or editing a product, you can upload a new file right from there — it’s added to your Media library automatically.
Insert media into a page
You add images to your pages inside the Builder (البلدر), Glowply’s visual page editor.1
Open the page in the Builder
From Pages, open the page you want to edit in the Builder.
2
Add or select an image area
Add an image element where you want the picture, or select an image that’s already on the page.
3
Choose from your library
Open the Media library from the Builder, then pick an existing image — or upload a new one on the spot.
4
Place and save
The image appears on the page. Adjust it as needed, then save the page to publish your change.
Insert media into a product
Product photos also come from your Media library. When you add or edit a product in your Store (المتجر):1
Open the product
In your Store, open the product you want to add images to.
2
Set the main image
Choose the product’s main image from your Media library, or upload a new one.
3
Add a gallery (optional)
Add more photos to the product gallery so customers can see it from different angles.
4
Save the product
Save your changes, and the images show on the product’s page in your store.
Set image details and alt text
Click any item in the library to open its details. Here you can review and edit the information that goes with the file:- Title — a clear name for the file, so it’s easy to find later
- Alt text — a short description of what the image shows
- Caption or description — extra text some designs display alongside the image
Alt text is a short, plain description of an image — for example, “Red summer dress on a model.” It’s read aloud by screen readers for visitors who can’t see the image, and search engines use it to understand your pictures. Add alt text to your important images, especially product photos.
A note on image size
Large image files make pages load slowly, which can frustrate visitors and hurt your search ranking. A little preparation keeps your site fast.Resize before you upload
Resize before you upload
Most photos don’t need to be larger than about 2000 pixels wide. Resizing a huge photo down before uploading keeps your pages quick to load without any visible loss in quality.
Choose the right format
Choose the right format
Use JPG or WebP for photographs, and PNG for logos or graphics that need a transparent background. WebP usually gives the smallest file size for the same quality.
Compress where you can
Compress where you can
Free online tools can shrink an image’s file size with little or no visible difference. Smaller files mean faster pages and a better experience for your customers.
