# Reviews

> Reviews are the ratings and feedback customers leave on your products. Learn how to read, approve, reply to, and moderate them, how they appear on your Store, and how to encourage more.

**Reviews (المراجعات)** are the star ratings and written feedback that customers leave on your products. Good reviews build trust and help new shoppers decide to buy. This page shows you how to read your reviews, approve or reply to them, deal with spam, and encourage more honest feedback.

You'll find reviews in your **site dashboard** under **Store (المتجر) → Reviews (المراجعات)**. This is separate from your **account portal**, which is only for billing.

<Info>
  **Which area am I in?** Reviews live in your **site dashboard (لوحة تحكم موقعك)** — the same place you manage products and orders. Your subscription and **Wallet** are elsewhere, in your **account portal**. Not sure how to open the dashboard? See [Site dashboard overview](/en/site/dashboard-overview).
</Info>

## What a review is

When a customer leaves a review on one of your products, it usually includes:

* A **star rating** — a score from 1 to 5 stars.
* A **comment** — their written feedback in their own words.
* The **reviewer's name** and the **date** they left it.
* The **product** the review is about.

A review may also be marked as coming from a **verified buyer** — someone whose order for that product is on record. Verified reviews carry extra weight with shoppers because they confirm the person actually bought the item.

<Note>
  Reviews are written by your customers, not by you. Your job is to **moderate** them — decide which ones appear on your Store, reply where it helps, and remove anything that's spam or abusive.
</Note>

## The Reviews list

Open **Store → Reviews** to see every review in one place, newest first. Each row shows the product, the star rating, the reviewer, the comment, and the date. From here you can:

* **Read** the full comment and see which product it's about.
* **Filter** to find reviews that are waiting for you — for example showing only the ones still pending.
* **Search** for reviews that mention a word or a product.
* **Act** on a review — approve it, reply to it, mark it as spam, or remove it.
* **Select several** reviews and act on them all at once.

<Tip>
  Make checking reviews part of your routine, like handling orders. Replying quickly — especially to a complaint — shows future customers that you care.
</Tip>

## Review status

Every review has a status that controls whether shoppers can see it on your Store.

| Status       | What it means                                                       |
| ------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Pending** | Waiting for your decision. Not shown on your Store yet. |
| **Approved** | Live on the product page for everyone to see. |
| **Spam** | Marked as junk or fake and hidden from your Store. |
| **Trash** | Removed. Held briefly so you can restore it, then deleted for good. |

<Info>
  Whether brand-new reviews start as **pending** (you approve each one first) or appear right away depends on your Store's review setting. If you'd like to change how that works, contact support and we'll help. See [Contact support](/en/contact-support).
</Info>

## Moderate a review

Moderating means deciding what happens to each review. Here's the everyday flow.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Reviews">
    In your site dashboard, go to **Store → Reviews**. Reviews waiting for you are easiest to find by filtering to the **pending** ones.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Read the review">
    Open the review to read the full comment, check the star rating, and see which product it's about. Decide whether it's genuine feedback or spam.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Approve genuine reviews">
    For a real review — positive or negative — choose **approve**. It then appears on that product's page for shoppers to read.

    <Note>Approve honest negative reviews too. A few thoughtful critical reviews make your positive ones more believable, and a calm public reply turns a complaint into a good impression.</Note>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Reply when it helps">
    Add a **reply** to thank a happy customer or to address a problem — for example offering to fix an issue or replace an item. Your reply appears beneath the review on the product page.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Remove spam or abuse">
    If a review is fake, an advert, or abusive, mark it as **spam** or send it to **trash** so it never shows on your Store.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Warning>
  Sending a review to **trash** removes it. It's held for a short time so you can restore it by mistake, then it's deleted permanently. Use **spam** for junk you want gone but not for honest criticism.
</Warning>

### Reply to a review

A short, polite reply is one of the most useful things you can do with a review — it's public, so future shoppers read it too.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the review and choose reply">
    Find the review in **Store → Reviews**, open it, and choose to **reply**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Write your response">
    Keep it short, friendly, and specific. Thank the customer by name, answer any question, and — for a complaint — say how you'll make it right.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Publish the reply">
    Save your reply. It appears under the customer's review on the product page for everyone to see.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Tip>
  For an unhappy customer, reply in public **and** reach out privately to resolve it. Other shoppers see that you respond; the customer gets their problem fixed.
</Tip>

## How reviews appear on your products

Once a review is **approved**, it shows on that product's page on your live site. Shoppers typically see:

* The product's **average star rating**, often near the title or price.
* The **number of reviews** the product has.
* The individual reviews — each with its stars, comment, reviewer name, and date — usually in a **reviews section** further down the page.
* Your **replies**, shown beneath the reviews you've answered.

A **verified buyer** badge may appear on reviews from customers whose order is on record, signalling that the feedback comes from a real purchase.

<Note>
  Pending, spam, and trashed reviews never appear on your Store. Only **approved** reviews are visible to shoppers, and the average rating is based on those.
</Note>

<Info>
  Where the rating and reviews sit on the page, and exactly how they're styled, depend on your product page design in **the Builder (البلدر)**. The content comes from your Store; the layout comes from your page. See [Builder overview](/en/site/builder-overview).
</Info>

## Encourage more reviews

More genuine reviews mean more trust and more sales. You can't write reviews for customers, but you can make it easy and inviting for them to leave one.

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Ask after the order arrives">
    The best moment to ask is just after a customer receives their product and is enjoying it. A friendly follow-up message — by WhatsApp, email, or a note in the package — inviting them to leave a review on your Store works well.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Make it quick and easy">
    Link customers straight to the product they bought so they can rate it in a few taps. The fewer steps, the more reviews you'll get.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Reply to every review">
    When shoppers see that you read and respond to feedback, they're more likely to leave their own. Thank people for good reviews and respond gracefully to critical ones.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Deliver a review-worthy experience">
    Clear product photos and descriptions, careful packaging, and quick replies to questions all lead to happier customers — and happier customers leave better reviews.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Never buy or fake reviews">
    Fake reviews mislead shoppers and damage trust when they're spotted. Genuine feedback — even the occasional critical review — is far more valuable for your Store in the long run.
  </Accordion>
</AccordionGroup>

<Warning>
  Don't offer money or free products in exchange for a **positive** review, and don't post reviews yourself. Honest reviews from real buyers are what shoppers trust.
</Warning>

## Common questions

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Why isn't a new review showing on my product?">
    It's probably still **pending** your approval. Open **Store → Reviews**, find it, and **approve** it — then it appears on the product page. If approved reviews still don't show, check that your product page design includes a reviews section in **the Builder**.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I edit or delete a review a customer wrote?">
    You can **remove** a review (mark it spam or send it to trash), but it's best not to change a customer's words. Instead of editing genuine feedback, **reply** to it so your side of the story appears alongside theirs.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="A competitor or troll left a fake review. What do I do?">
    Mark it as **spam** or send it to **trash** so it's hidden from your Store. If you're getting repeated abuse, contact support and we'll help. See [Contact support](/en/contact-support).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What is a verified buyer?">
    A verified buyer is a reviewer whose order for that product is on record. Their review may carry a badge that tells shoppers the feedback comes from someone who actually bought the item.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How is the star rating on a product calculated?">
    It's the average of all **approved** reviews for that product. Pending, spam, and trashed reviews aren't counted, so the rating reflects only the feedback you've published.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I turn reviews off for a product?">
    Yes — whether a product accepts reviews can be controlled, and you can stop showing the reviews section on a product's page in **the Builder**. If you'd like reviews disabled across your Store, contact support. See [Contact support](/en/contact-support).
  </Accordion>
